Good on him for always being proud to be an American Mexcican. He always carried both those flags out. Glad he is now a legend.

I absolutely love his story. I come from a similar background. Regardless of race we all need to decide the person God created us to live. My parents didn't make sound choices but I am blessed to say that I broke the cycle of living below our ability. There are no excuses for following a path that doesn't work.

Most Hispanics are conservatives at heart. They believe in God, work hard and believe in the family unit. As a Hispanic im trying my best to open my brothers and sisters eyes to that simple truth.

Tito, I hated your guts during the shamrock beef, but over the years I’ve learned to let it go. I’ve watched a ton of your old fights and these days I regularly root for that melon-head of yours to take the win, even if I’ve seen them a few times before. Rest assured that this wonderful vid only solidifies my begrudged fanhood further. BURN EM UP TITO!

Great video. I believe Tito's mother was American Caucasian and not of Mexican descent. Just a distinction on the American-Mexican name. I managed one of Tito's mma rivals, Stephan Bonnar, and during my brief stint in marketing for Bellator we beat UFC head to head on the ratings with the Tito Ortiz-Stephan Bonnar main event. Tito is a great businessman in addition to being a great fighter. He plays the face gimmick so strongly that many fans hate him. Sort if like the Bob Backlund return in 1990s WWF

I went to the same high school as that guy. I remember he used to come into Tom Wyman's history class saying he admired him and thanking him for being his teacher. I remember my Math Teacher would ask famous people who came into his class "What are you still doing here, you graduated years ago". 😆 We had cool teachers in HBHS. When Tito first showed up, I didn't know who he was. Almost 2 decades later, I see him on TV kick boxing and I am all like "It's that guy, that guys cool!". I don't remember if he won or lost the fight, I was just surprised it was him kicking some butt. Now he is on PragerU, a legend in the making.

PragerU needs to start their own network like Fox, CBS and the others so we can see more uplifting and insightful content instead of only the bad or the one sided narrative most like to push. I used to like when they showed what makes us all Americans. They would drive across the country and just stop in a little town and interview people and let us hear their story. I felt that brought us closer to each other not like now trying to push us apart.

Why is it, that every sob story I here about some famous person, they’re always ragggin on their dad. This modern American culture that’s been demonizing men since the 70s and they wonder why men don’t wanna try. The only men who are considered “good” fathers are men with a whole bunch of money. What a joke.

I know this isn't about this but he admits getting financial aid because he is mexican american and the truth is if it was a white man in that exact situation he would have kept going down the road to destruction because the powers that be would have said no to the white person, is that the privilege I hear about?...I am happy for Tito and I enjoy him but someone that's not white should start speaking up about how unfair things like affirmative action hiring, acceptance and assistance is...the powers that be shouldn't even be allowed to ask us our race it should be purely based on income and legal status...

Love this! Looking at where my family came from in Mexico, I can see why they came here. Life was hard there, but they brought their work ethic here and have had good lives and made good lives for their children and grandchildren. My grandpa was one of the hardest working men I know. My family worked the fields, and they all worked super hard. No handouts. Thanks for your story, Tito. It's beautiful.

This needs to be a REAL eye-opener for a lot of people. One's persona in the ring is not a complete indicator of who they are outside the ring, AND not an indicator of who they will become. "I am going to change the cycle." Imagine if that was every persons outlook. That was my outlook with my kids, too. Much, much respect for Tito.

Funny how in Texas we're told by Liberal states most whites hate Hispanics/Mexican Americans. If you live here in Texas long enough you realize we all love Hispanics and the culture. The women are beautiful, we appreciate the hard work, we all enjoy good food and we share a southern culture. I knew more racists liberals towards Hispanics moving to their state in Colorado than I ever did in Texas.
