There is a cost of locking down the country, just as there is a cost of NOT locking it down. Every decision comes with a price, but in the case of coronavirus, too few are asking-or caring-what that is.

I think the entire Lockdown is a clinical trial for the Globalists, as a precursor to implementing The Green New Deal, The Green Industrial Revolution and other "Green" Socialist programs across the world. They want to know how far they can go... how many Liberties they can take away from people, before they fight back. They are trying to control us by Fear, and need to see if it will work... so far, it's working... the sheeple are ready for our collars... 1984 here we come!

I weight the costs in the terms of hours of my labor. If something costs $80 and I make $10/hr, is the product worth or is my enjoyment worth me working 10 hours or 1/4 of my work week for this? (gotta pay those taxes too)

Saw a Facebook friend saying "Great! Stupid people couldn't follow basic procedures so now we're having another lock-down!" The government isn't just acting like a parent; they're acting like an abusive parent. They're the jerk dad who spanks all the kids for what one of them did so that the kids turn on the other one. "Well, y'all could have had lives and privileges, but your stupid little brother had to disobey me, so now you all get spanked and go to bed without supper!" Alas...it's working.

OMFG, so what you're saying lockdowns don't work because of the wonders of Capitalism! If we didn't have Capitalism, and instead had mechanisms in place that take into account when a pandemic happens. Who knew. Therefore the reason "lockdowns" kill is Capitalism makes sure if capital isn't made, people pay. Capital over people is wrong.

The fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom. If people have no fear of God, they cannot have any wisdom. That is just a fact. The bible teaches wisdom. I am a Christian, and love the Old Testament and the New Testament. I do have a fear of God. Until I feared God, I had no Wisdom. I do believe I have been gaining wisdom ever since I have had a real fear of God.

I can understand Dennis' views on the lockdown and the people they ended up harming as a side effect. However, answer me this question. Right now the covid19 death rate is less than 3%. How high would the death rate and infection rate need to be for a lockdown to be justified? If the death rate was say 70-80%(bubonic plague level) without medical treatment, would you still be saying that people die from the flu anyways so there's no point wearing masks or locking down the country? If so, how high would the death toll need to be for you to support a lockdown?

I don't know where you are getting your facts, but Sweden is suffering with a large numbers of deaths. Needless deaths. Japan is going through a THIRD wave. The UK is on lockdown. California is headed there. People are chosing not to follow CDC rules, because the CDC rules are not consistant. First they say don't wear masks, then wear masks, young don't get it, then they do..There is no consistant data and all this back and forth is causing people not to trust the "Experts." Even Dr. Fauchi, who is a leading expert, damaged his credibility by inconsistent evidence. Science is one thing but different views of it cause confusion and distrust.

The reason lockdowns hurt more than they help is simply because they are being used wrongly. They are indubitably effective when used as short sharp brief(!) restrictions followed immediately by sensible behaviour and proper tracking/tracing and localised isolation procedures. The evidence for their success when used this way is being celebrated in New Zealand, Taiwan and other well-organised countries. The generalisation that they don't work is like saying that people in hospitals are always ill so people shouldn't go to hospitals.

I agree with you 100%. I have been saying exactly what you said since this all began in the spring of 2020. We are hurting people more than we’re helping anyone. Hundreds of thousands of people die from so many different things but we’re not shutting down our society for those reasons. You pointed out a few. People die of the flu every year. They die from pneumonia. They die from car accidents. Etc etc... I read online that 50 million people die every year in the world from various causes. We don’t shut down our society because people die in car accidents or die of the flu or pneumonia or or some disease. This is all being done to achieve a political agenda. The elite that want a one world government, aka, the elite globalist want this. They are seeking to take away our rights and freedoms and we as a society are freely giving them up for our supposed safety. How dangerous is a virus 🦠 that you have to be tested to know that you have it and forced to take a vaccine for it? And has a 99% survival rate.

I will dare to disagree. The left has no regard for small business because of control. They can control/bargain with large businesses. Run the small out of business and everyone works for the big. Walmart doesn't toe the line? Start union agitation. Add regulation. It's easy to control Walmart. Impossible to control thousands of independents. Lockdowns also help weed out undesirables. Close the small gun stores. Put pressure on large retailers to stop selling guns. Close the office that handles state mandates for gun possession. That many fewer guns to "buy back" down the road. Close churches/temples/mosques. They are nothing but hotbeds of dissent for most on the left. The ones preaching the message of the left aren't really following God anyhow. Wear a mask. Identify the compliant, punish the rebels. The left doesn't give a damn about it's reputation. They will just rewrite the history and blame it on the right.

Sweden doesn't have a global city,so there isn't a large transient population of multi ethnicities. ie How many flights from Wuhan/China per se were there to Sweden vs those to Italy, UK, USA over CNY? Secondly, Sweden has Vitamin D in their food!!!! Vit D - Key to Immune system. Boost Vit D, you're more likely to get a mild case in the first instance. "Sweden to expand mandatory vitamin D fortification" www.nutraingredients.com/Article/2015/05/28/Sweden-to-expand-mandatory-vitamin-D-fortification? Swedes, generally, are not overweight lazy bastards either! But agree the shutdown for anyone under age of 50 is bloody stupid. That is why they haven't had Covid -19 badly.

Dear Dennis, congratulations for your wonderful firside chats. My wife and I are true fans of yours. We have an alternative theory for the leftist being so pro-lockdown and I hope you can read this comment and further develop your thoughts in another episode. Our theory is that they are experimenting new methods for controlling people to test how far can they go. The objective? The Great Reset and the Agenda 2030 (as we know here in Europe). Then, the underlying question is....do I think the virus was deliberately released to catalise these objectives and interfere with the US elections? Well, I do not really know, but deliberate or not, some very powerful forces are utilising the pandemia for their own benefit at our own cost. Scary...

This would be a perfect application of the "Catholic Just War Doctrine". Since we are "at war" with a virus, a human predator and a natural "weeder-outer" of weak humans (sick, old, dying, or even the very young, but not in this particular case) that strengthens the human gene pool naturally, we must apply these rules here: 1) The damage this virus causes is not lasting, grave, or certain. Herd immunity, only kills certain preventable populations (the sick and old can be isolated - the comorbid could have made better life choices in areas of tobacco abuse, poor eating habits, etc.) 2) The means the world is using (lockdowns and economic destruction) are impractical and ineffective. Whenever a "reopening" occurs, the virus continues to run its course - that's its nature. 3) There are no serious prospects of success using lockdowns per rule 2. 4) The use of lockdowns is causing more evils and disorders than the virus itself would cause. People are losing their jobs/income. In essence, the governments are stealing their money they would have earned; and not paying wages, by correlation, is a crime that calls to God Himself for vengeance. Lots of people are becoming mad and creating havoc in their situations that otherwise would never have happened. So, since we are fighting an enemy though unseen whose effects are not (at a 99.8% survival rate) in the least as devastating as this "response", it must be - for Catholics, at least - completely reversed, unused, or civilly ignored.

Is it good or is it bad for a man to feel like he has been castrated because he is no longer allowed to make money for his family I have a simple answer to that a man sees his own worth and thus everybody else is worth by the ability to make money for the family Is a man's life is nothing then how much does he think your life is worth? Civilization demands that everybody believes that everybody else is life is worth something the only way to make that happen is to make your own life with something. This leaves a worthless man 2 options suicide or murder. Show I repeat What is the value of the enable to provide for your family. My answer is simple all the doctors in this United States have made their lives worthless Every mare that says that covered 19 exists has made their life worthless They have all made their lives cheap Life is worth no more today in America than it was in Japan 100 years ago Think you doctor faqih

@Perry Widhalm Wilson was President in 1913. So sure, he helped create the stage for ww2 and kickstarted the Cold War together with european monarchies at the end of the First World War, But the USA was already a tyrannical empire by 1913. In 1898 the USA occupied the Philippines and ushered in a brutal dictatorship. In 1903 teddy armed a bunch of rebels and secessionists in order to Balkanize Colombia so American corps could build the Panama Canal. That new government created and funded by Americans, also had decades of violent human right violations. The very realization of manifest destiny was through the maintenance of absolute subjugation and genocide of other people existing in the lands. And all that was before Wilson.

A Message from the wealthy: wage slaves, you've got to understand that if line doesn't go up, our system fails. Because the system is dependent upon you working. But We can't say that, that might mean you demand more money for the things you do. So listen to this message: "Lockdowns hurt more than they help" - because we in big corporations will fire you because, though we make millions a year, we cannot stand to not turn a profit for a couple of months to improve your health and safety. So we must lay you off if we aren't turning a quarterly profit. Call it a Blood Trade. We'd rather you starve than we starve. But, again, we can't be the ones to blame here. After all, it's the Government that ordered the lockdown! Now, obviously, they only did that to prevent your death... but really only 1% of you will die so to us, the wealthy, that's just a pittance. I mean, only 250k of you have died so far this year! And there's millions of you wage slaves out there! So get on out there wage slaves! It's better for you to risk your health for your paycheck than to face the risk of us firing you to improve our bottom line temporarily. I mean... what are we going to do otherwise? Eat into our massive profits collectively or reduce OUR wages? Don't be ridiculous!

11:40- 11:53 Sweeden did not lock down and Sweeden is 20th in the world in per capita deaths. According to Dennis, that is proof that lock downs are ineffective. There are almost 200 countries in the world. That means that the overwhelming majority of countries in the world have a lower death rate per capita than Sweeden does. I am confused. Does the statsistic about the death rate per capita in Sweeden really prove that lock downs are ineffective? Why or why not? If anyone knows the answer to that question, please tell me and explain with logic and empirical data from legitimate sources. I am confused.

5:11- 5:20 Dennis acknowledges that there is such a thing as a bad marriage and being in a bad marriage is a terrifying possibility. However, he also says that remaining single for fear of ending up in an emotionally dissatisfying relationship is like never driving for fear of ending up in a car accident. I suppose you could look at it that way, but here is why I personally do not look at it that way. The overwhelming majority of people are reliant on driving in order to get to work or go to the store. I don't see how you can live life without transportation. Marriage is not necessary in the same way that driving is. Let's suppose that Dennis' analogy does make sense. Some people will then argue that anyone who does not get married is an idiot and that remaining single is some kind of ethical breach that should be stigmatized. I am not saying that that is necessarily what Dennis said, but a lot of people do have that attitude. Even though driving is necessary for a society, not everyone has to drive. Some people, who are physically disabled and/or have autism, cannot drive. These people either take Ubers or relly on transportation from friends and family. Just like most people should know how to drive, but it is alright if some people cannot, it is better if the majority of people want to marry and procreate, but it is no big deal if some people do not. Everything that I just said is what I am pretty sure is an accurate representation of reality, but I recognize the possibility that I could be wrong. If anyone disagrees with anything that I have said so far, believing it to be fake news or flawed logic, please explain what you disagree with and why you disagree with it. If presented with a convincing enough counter argument, I might change my mind.

A lot of people are wondering when the pandemic will end. Even though everyone wants the pandemic to be over, not everyone wants that for the same reason. If you are in favor of these social distancing regulations, that means you are scared of the virus and you want the pandemic to be over, so that you can stop panicking about the virus. If you oppose these social distancing regulations and subscribe the the conservative mentality that preventing the spread of the virus is not worth trampling on people’s constitutional rights, then you want the pandemic to be over, so you can resume normal life. I did some research, here is what I have found out. When the pandemic will end really depends on how you define end. An epidemiological end will be achieved when herd immunity has happened. Herd immunity is when a sufficient portion of society is immune so as to prevent wide spread ongoing transmission. Invention of the vaccine will cause an earlier end to the pandemic, but herd immunity could be achieved without a vaccine, remember there is no vaccine for Ebola and I actually don’t think that the Ebola outbreak of 2014 even became a pandemic in the first place. When this end point is reached, the public health emergency interventions implemented in 2020 will no longer be necessary. A transition to normalcy would mean that most aspects of social and economic life can resume with no fear of ongoing mortality (that would mean that the mortality rate of the country is NOT any higher than the annual average) or long term health consequences related to the corna virus. To achieve this outcome, the following protections should be implemented: The highest risk population should be vaccinated (highest risk would include the elderly and diabetics). Available testing should be rapid and accurate. Improved therapeutics. Continued strengthening of public health response. If and when an epidemological end is achieved, or even when a transition to normalcy is achieved, air travel, bustling shops, full restaurants, humming factories and public gyms operating at capacity will all happen once again. Experts foresee an epidemiological end in the second half of 2021 and a transition to normalcy in the first half of 2021. Neither a transition to normalcy nor an epidemologicla end will happen in the next two months, it looks like we will end 2020, still in a pandemic. Here's the real reason for the lock down. They (the media) needs to change the news cycle. There is evidence pointing to a fraudulent election. Distract the entire nation with a crisis... again... to achieve their goals. I'll say it again. The media are committing crimes against humanity, and they should be held accountable.

Lockdowns do help people than killing them. In India, despite public. non-co-operation, cases have not even reached 1 percent of our total population and there was enough testing that was performed. India still has less cases than America.

Dennis, you forget. These elitists don't care about people! They are tyrants, traitors, and sub-human. To appeal to them, with sense and empathy, doesn't work. They understand envelopes of cash, power, and favors, and that's it.

Hi Dennis. Would you consider making a 5 minute video based on the Egyptian lady’s question about Jewish people instinctively, and erroneously, associating the Right with Hitler?

The problem with marraige is that it's a terrible risk to a man and always pays well for the woman. She can divorce for any reason and automatically gets 50% of everything, plus alimony and child support based on circumstances. This is a terribly unnecessary risk just like driving drunk. If you drive drunk, you probably won't get hurt or hurt anybody, but it's super irresponsible and dramatically increases the chances of a disaster. Dennis is just being a terrible disengenious with marraige, a mistake he repeatedly makes, and fails to do any fair cost-benefit analysis. LIke all the other Boomers, he's whistling in the dark.

Lockdowns wouldn't be called for if people would just show some personal responsibility for their actions - its' stupid to wear the mask below the nose or chin, or not to wear it at all; to mix in crowds where you can contract, or shed, the virus to/from others. You have three generations of adults who were never told "No!" as a kid. Now they still think they can do whatever they want, regardless of safety.

We are having permanent lockdowns in Portugal almost since March. Our country is becoming a dictatorship under the pretext of the pandemic by the socialist government that legislates without any checks and balances. How can the people be saved from this regime?

I live in the greater Syracuse area. (You mentioned Syracuse in the video.) The governor definitely did say that about saving one life making the lockdown worth it. I was against that then, and I'm still against that now. There are so many other factors to consider. I have been so lonely, fighting off depressed feelings... and have gained about 15 pounds. Previously, my social life consisted of eating at certain restaurants (where one doesn't pay a tip) where I have friends. Now I eat on and off all day long because I'm socially bored. People have lost their businesses here because of the lockdown. I can't go to the gym without first having to go online and making a reservation...if a time slot is available... when I used to just go to my classes there on a regular basis. It's stupid. It's awful. For Thanksgiving, there will only be four of us instead of the usual 20. And we always play board games, but we'll be bringing our laptops and spreading out and playing the games with each other online, while being in the same house. Some friends have had a hard time figuring out how to teach their courses partly online and partly in person. And one of them teaches foreign language courses where the students need to interact with one another to learn the language. Each school district has a different policy to deal with this. The pupils go so school some days and not others. Who watches them when they're home? Most parents work. And then a child was found with COVID in the middle school, so the middle school shut down for two weeks. That meant that the students needed home supervision every day. Now we're in a yellow micro-cluster. One main restaurant (where you pick up your own food) has already cut its seating capacity down by half, and now they've added a 90-minute restriction. Well, I'm used to sitting there for hours, working on my laptop, having people and casual friends around, talking to people or just being in that environment...instead of being home alone. That's my social life. Now I can't do that. My regular physician (yearly checkup) made the comment that this lockdown has really affected me. (He has known me for years, so he can see a difference.) Sorry for the long post. Guess I'm lonely. You've been someone to "talk to". Thanks.
